One of the latest weapons in the war on terrorism designed and developed by Slingshot Product Development was unveiled on August 2 in Duluth GA.
"Slingshot Product Development Group designed and developed a hand-held chemical and explosives detection "sniffer" device for Isonics Homeland Security & Defense Corporation, using IMS technology (ion mobility spectrometry), that can detect in the air miniscule amounts of chemical toxins and homemade explosives. The programmable device recognizes up to 60 substances such as sarin nerve gas or mustard gas, even at low levels.
Slingshot's team of designers and engineers collaborated with the Isonics team to develop the technology from the science stage into a groundbreaking product. Slingshot led the entire process, including brainstorming, conceptualization, form development, ergonomics, prototyping, engineering, manufacturing coordination, and a complete redesign of the core electronics. Slingshot converted the experimental lab bench technology into a product that was ready for manufacturing and meets the needs of the market."
